Melville Man Convicted and Sentenced on Child Pornography and Coercion Charges

Defendant Bradley Garyn Lured Young Girls Through a Social Media Site

(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced today the sentencing of Bradley Garyn to an indeterminate prison term of 5 to 15 years in prison after a 2020 four-month long investigation into child pornography and coercion allegations.

“This defendant exploited numerous young and impressionable teenage women in order to satisfy his own prurient and repugnant desires,” said DA Tierney. “The actions by this defendant will not be tolerated in Suffolk County, and the term of imprisonment he will serve for these crimes, as well as the orders of protection we have obtained on behalf of these victims, will ensure that this defendant cannot continue to engage in such abhorrent criminal behavior.”

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Computer Crimes Unit, began their investigation into Garyn in September 2020, following a juvenile female’s report to law enforcement that the defendant coerced her into providing him with explicit photographs and videos via the social media platform Snapchat.

The investigation revealed that Garyn established contact with multiple juvenile females on the social media platform Snapchat under multiple usernames including “ipay4feetpics,” “paying4feetpics” and “PayU4Selfies.” The defendant offered $10 payment in exchange for “selfies” or photographs of the girls’ feet.

After establishing communication with the victims, Garyn solicited increasingly explicit photographs and videos in exchange for higher amounts of money, up to $500. In one instance, Garyn coerced a victim into sending him sexually explicit photographs and video by threatening to disseminate intimate images of her. Garyn was arrested in December 2020 and search warrants were executed by law enforcement to seize and search various computer equipment and cellular telephones in his possession.

Garyn, 29, pleaded guilty to the following charges on September 19, 2022 before the Honorable Karen M. Wilutis:

Four counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance;

Four counts of Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child;

One count of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child;

Four counts of Disseminating Indecent Materials to a Minor in the First Degree;

Three counts of Coercion in the First Degree;

Five counts of Criminal Solicitation in the Third Degree;

Five counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and

One count of Criminal Solicitation in the Fourth Degree.

At the time of his plea, Garyn admitted that he used Snapchat to lure young girls (ranging from ages 12 to 16) by offering them Amazon Gift codes in exchange for pictures of their feet and faces. The defendant admitted he groomed these girls so that he could later coerce them into sending him nude and sexually explicit pictures of themselves. Garyn also admitted that he coerced them to send him videos of themselves engaging in sexual conduct.

Garyn was sentenced today before Justice Karen M. Wilutis to 5 to 15 years’ incarceration. The defendant is represented by Ira Weissman, Esq. and David Besso, Esq.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Anne E. Davis of the Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau.

Criminal complaints and indictments are merely accusatory instruments. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. No one is above the law.
