Bay Shore Man Indicted for the Rape and Sexual Abuse of Two Children He Met on Snapchat

Bradley Schioppa Allegedly Utilized the Snapchat Handle “paxonhotsg5” to Initiate Contact with the Victims

(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Bradley Schioppa, 18, of Bay Shore, was indicted for Rape in the First Degree, and other related charges, for sexually abusing two 11-year-old boys that he met via Snapchat.

“This defendant is accused of committing horrific acts against two innocent children,” said District Attorney Tierney. “These charges reflect the seriousness of the alleged conduct. Protecting our most vulnerable residents, especially children, remains my highest priority. We will pursue this case with the full force of the law to deliver the justice these children deserve.”

According to the investigation, in April 2025, a Snapchat group chat was created amongst several 11-year-old boys from the Smithtown area. Schioppa, who goes by the username “paxonhotsg5,” was also added to the chat. The boys assumed that Schioppa was around their age and did not question his participation in the chat. Schioppa then allegedly began to show up at locations where the boys would meet, including Robert A. Brady Park in Smithtown. Once the boys met Schioppa in person, they realized that he was older. He would allegedly drive the boys around in his car, buy them snacks and soft drinks, and play prank games with them.

Schioppa allegedly sexually abused one 11-year-old boy in the bathroom of Brady Park and another 11-year-old boy in the bathroom of CVS in Smithtown. On both occasions, he allegedly framed the abuse as a prank or a dare that they would both be paid for. In May 2025, one of the victim’s mothers discovered messages between Schioppa and her son, and she questioned the victim, which led to the disclosure of the sexual abuse and subsequent police investigation. Schioppa was arrested on May 21, 2025.

On June 10, 2025, Schioppa was arraigned on the indictment before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis for:
· Three counts of Rape in the First Degree, Class B violent felonies;
· Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, Class D violent felonies; and
· Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Class A misdemeanors.

Justice Wilutis ordered Schioppa held on $450,000 cash, $900,000 bond or $4.5 million partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Schioppa is due back in court on July 8, 2025, and faces 25 years in prison if convicted on the top count. He is being represented by Ira Weissman, Esq.

If you believe that your child messaged or communicated with Schioppa via his Snapchat account “paxonhotsg5,” or otherwise, please contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office at 631-852-2555 or the Suffolk County Police Department Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Johanna Poremba of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau, and the investigation was conducted by Suffolk County Police Department Detectives Michele Speed and Robert Cafiero of the Special Victims Section.

Criminal complaints and indictments are merely accusatory instruments. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. No one is above the law.
