(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that a 15-year-old defendant was indicted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, and several related charges, for allegedly shooting two victims at a Central Islip apartment complex pool in June.
“This violence has no place in our community,” said District Attorney Tierney. “My office will do everything in its power to seek swift justice for the victims.”
According to the investigation, on June 19, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., two groups of teenagers engaged in a physical altercation at the Hawthorne Living apartment complex swimming pool. Moments after the fight broke out, the defendant allegedly pulled a firearm from his backpack and fired at least 10 rounds that struck two victims.
