(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Robert Brozowski, 35, of Yonkers, was indicted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, and related charges, for allegedly stabbing a Babylon man in the neck after a verbal dispute at a mutual acquaintance’s house.
“The evidence presented alleges that the defendant stabbed the victim in the neck, causing life-threatening injuries. This alleged violent attack could have easily resulted in the victim’s death,” said District Attorney Tierney. “Violence of this nature has no place in our community.”
According to the investigation, on August 29, 2025, Suffolk County police officers from the First Precinct responded to a Babylon residence in response to two 911 calls for help. The callers alleged that Brozowski attempted to engage in a verbal dispute with the victim, who he had allegedly met for the first time that day, and then stabbed the victim in the neck. Brozowski allegedly fled the location afterwards in his red 2018 Chevrolet Silverado truck. A nearby patrol officer allegedly observed Brozowski’s vehicle traveling northbound on Deer Park Avenue and onto the westbound Southern State Parkway. The officer initiated a traffic stop and Brozowski allegedly pulled over at first and then reentered traffic fleeing westbound. Brozowski ultimately complied with officers’ requests for him to pull over and he stopped approximately one exit later and was taken into custody.
During Brozowski’s alleged flight from the scene, the stabbing victim was transported to an area hospital where he underwent an extensive emergency surgery to repair his trachea and esophagus, both of which were severed by the alleged attack.
On September 29, 2025, Brozowski was arraigned before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B violent felony, Assault in the First Degree, a Class B violent felony, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Class D felonies.
Justice Mazzei ordered Brozowski held on $250,000 cash, $500,000 bond, or $5 million partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Brozowski is due back in court on November 13, 2025 and faces 25 years in prison if convicted on the top count. He is being represented by Eric Besso, Esq.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Aileen E. Iorio of the Major Crime Bureau, and the investigation was conducted by Detective Kevin Gribbin of the Suffolk County Police Department’s First Precinct Detective Squad.
