Intake and Discovery Compliance Bureau
Assistant District Attorneys begin their career in the Intake and Discovery Compliance Bureau, where they screen all arrests in Suffolk County and handle misdemeanor arraignments.
District Court Bureau and East End Bureau
ADAs then rotate through these bureaus to gain hands-on experience prosecuting misdemeanor crimes while building their trial and investigative skills.
Domestic Violence Unit
Assistant District Attorneys are then assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit, where they prosecute both misdemeanor and felony domestic violence cases.
Grand Jury Unit
Assistant District Attorneys will then learn how to present felony cases to the Grand Jury, manage pre-indictment dispositions, and handle felony arraignments.
Promotion to Felony Bureau
