(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that a 50-year-old Huntington man was found guilty after a two-week jury trial of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, and other related charges, for repeated sexual abuse of his two minor daughters.
“This defendant violated the innocence of his two young daughters, who now have to live with the trauma of what their father did to them,” said District Attorney Tierney. “I commend the victims in their bravery to come forward to testify against their father. These victims came forward as adults to disclose abuse that had happened when they were very young. I urge anyone who was abused as a child to come forward to law enforcement and let us know, so that we can protect other children.”
The evidence at trial established that in February 2012, the defendant began sexually abusing his oldest daughter, who was 10 years old at the time. A short time later, the defendant began to also sexually abuse his younger daughter, who was eight years old at the time. The defendant’s behavior escalated to abusing both children simultaneously and abusing one child in front of the other. The abuse occurred while the victims’ mother was at work, and the defendant would often use the promise of gifts to lure the children into the abuse again. The abuse ended around September 2012 when the victim’s mother was home more often.
The victims initially disclosed the abuse to members of their church, and later as young adults, they reported it to law enforcement. The defendant was arrested on August 30, 2023, and held on $250,000 cash, $500,000 bond, or $2.5 million partially secured bond.
On May 14, 2025, the defendant was convicted of the following charges after a jury trial heard before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis:
• Two counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, Class B violent felonies; and
• Two counts of Incest in the First Degree, Class B violent felonies.
The defendant is due back in court for sentencing on June 17, 2025, and faces up to 50 years in prison. He will be required to register as a sex offender. He is being represented by Andrew Karpf, Esq.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Dana Castaldo of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau with assistance to victims provided by Victim Services Coordinator Aracelis Buchanan, and the investigation was conducted by Investigators Lorraine Winters and Maureen Gonzalez of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
