On May 20, 1998, skeletal remains were located in an overgrown sump area adjacent to the Freshman Center Elementary School in Brentwood, New York. Anthropological assessments suggest the decedent was: (1) a white and/or Hispanic male between 15 and 17 years of age; (2) likely stood between 5’3 and 5’9 tall; and (3) had been deceased for 6 to 18 months prior to his discovery. The teen was recovered wearing a green and black jacket (size XL) labeled “Alliance Down,” a shirt with “Chicago” written in black letters, “Buffalo” brand hiking boots (size 8.5), a belt featuring a Boy Scout buckle, white plastic rosary beads, and a yellow stud/post earring with green stone. The child also possessed a fluorescent green plastic key ring from “Hands of Gold Jewelry” in Copiague, NY.
In 2025, the Suffolk County Cold Case Task Force, in conjunction with Forensic Artists with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (“NCMEC”), was able to re-examine the victim’s skull and create an updated composite sketch of how the victim likely appeared prior to his death. That image is contained herein.
