A Special Investigator is a sworn police officer, pursuant to section 1.20(34)(g) of the New York Criminal Procedure Law, who works in the direct service of the District Attorney’s investigative initiatives. Candidates for this position are customarily specialists in a particularized field of investigation or law enforcement tactics; adding to the overall skillset of the SCDA Investigative Operations Corps.
