(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Austin Lynch, 18, of Nesconset, was indicted for Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree for allegedly orchestrating a plan to have the home of murder victim Emily Finn burglarized, while he awaits trial for her murder.[1]
“While awaiting trial, this defendant allegedly sought to terrorize the family of Emily Finn, the young woman he is accused of killing,” said District Attorney Tierney. “Our office will not allow victims and their loved ones to be subjected to further harm.”
According to the investigation, Lynch allegedly conspired with another to burglarize the Finn family residence. Lynch allegedly provided the co-conspirator with detailed information about the home’s appearance, layout, and contents, and instructed him on how to gain entry into the residence. At the time of the alleged plot, members of the victim’s family were still living in the home.
On March 20, 2026, Lynch was arraigned on the indictment before Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft, Jr., for Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, a Class E felony.
Justice Senft ordered Lynch to be remanded during the pendency of the case. Lynch is due back in court on May 4, 2026, and faces up to 1 ⅓ to 4 years in prison if convicted of the charge. Additionally, Lynch faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the Murder in the Second Degree charge that he is already facing related to the death of Emily Finn. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Dena Rizopoulos of the Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Keri Wasson of the Major Crime Bureau, and the investigation was conducted by Detective Adam Quinones of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Homicide Squad.
